Timeline: 6 June 2392

Rubbing a hand over the back of her neck, Jen's hand brushed against the new pip on her collar that held a weight she hadn't previously expected. In truth her world was still reeling, in a short time she'd been promoted in both rank and position but in turn lost staff she had been just on the fringes of getting to know better. It was still an ongoing situation, back filling the people who had moved with Amar and Wulfe starting with herself as Chief Medical Officer.

In truth, the overwhelming load of work had been welcomed in a personal sense; the last conversation she had had with Amar still echoed in her mind as she realised that Kabar was being to get into a place she'd tried to lock away. David had meant so much to the young woman, the war that moving on caused within her mind and heart was wrenching as she tried to fight against Kabar while trying to let him in closer.

Jen's hand moved to press her fingers against her temple as she closed her eyes against the dull thumping behind the temple. It was easier to focus on work, sort out what was in her control first. To focus and have a center than it was to try and think of the rest. Which brought her to where she stood now, the chief counsellor's office.

The visit was both personally and professional, she knew with the career move a check in would be necessitated but professionally the two women were to work closer together within the medical department. To this point they'd just seen each other in passing so it would be amiss not to right that.

"Come in," Eve called lightly when she heard the chime go. She sat back from the desk, laying the pen delicately down on the old fashioned paper before pressing a hand to the back of her neck, rolling her head a little to the side to stretch. She smiled when she saw who it was, standing as she motioned her inside. "Please, come in. Can I get you anything?"

Jen moved forward without a hesitation, an automatic reflex to the invitation. A small smile settled on her lips as there was no hiding the tiredness in the depths of her eyes. The Doctor knew the motions but she also knew how difficult a counselor's job could be. "A water would be good. I appreciate you making time in your schedule to meet with me Counselor."

"No, not at all, that's exactly what my schedule is for," Eve assured her with a knowing look, shaking her head as she got them both cool water. She settled onto the sofa, delicately brushing the purple dress down over her knee as she crossed her legs. Her long, dark hair was in a simple braid that was down over her right shoulder. It wasn't unusual for her to swap a uniform with a dress or skirt. It made her feel more comfortable some days, and in all honesty, she suspected it made some patients feel more comfortable too. "What can I do for you?"

As Jenn took the glass of water in her hands, she begun to roll it between both palms of her hands in an attempt to gather her thoughts."Professional is always best to start on before personal right?" Only then did she look up with a slight smile. "Medical has had a huge hit with the recent changes and it's knocked a few of my staff. I'm doing what I can but there's only so much you do to elivate the pain of loosing people you have become so close to." Her own words touched deeper...Richardson knew better than anyone the feeling of loosing colleagues.

Eve nodded with understanding, able to recognise where she was coming from easily enough. "Just your staff?" she asked softly, tilting her head to catch her eye. "Or...has it knocked you too?"
