Welcome to the USS Asgard, a proud member of Theta Fleet!

This is an 18+ SIMM.

This is the USS Asgard, we started as a Norway class ship set up to survey and explore the many space anomalies in and along the Federations many borders. The Asgard first assignment was to the Phendara Drifts to take samples and readings of the composition of the drifts. Her previous Captain was slain on his last mission, The Asgard suffered heavy losses and severe damage on that last outing. The ship was hammered by Breen Raiders who had recently become more active in the sector. So now with a new Commander, a new crew and repairs completed the Asgard is returning. Not a ship of war by any means she does have teeth and a dedicated crew. Starfleet Command does not want a war so the Asgard has the added duty of finding out why the Breen are so interested in this area. The Norway is basically equal to a Breen frigate, but they seldom travel alone and the Norway class would have no choice but to run from a pack of them! So finding out why the Breen are here is not going to be an easy task.

That was in March 2389 but now it is December 2391 and it is a new day for the crew of the Asgard. Once again a command crew has been killed off, this time on an Akira class. Murdered not in battle though but by a terrorist bomb. The Strike cruiser is needed on the Talarian border and the green crew needs a battle hardened commander. The ship's command team killed at the beginning of the naming ceremony so the new ship is yet unnamed! In a move to cover the ship's approach and in honor of the newly appointed Captain the Akira is named USS Asgard, NCC 38416-A.

The Talarian border will be delayed however as the Federation Embassy on Bellatrix has been seized by rebellious forces. They will be a bit surprised when the Asgard shows up! Not a Norway any longer but a ship with real teeth, an Akira class. Our mission focus will change from Studying spacial anomalies to border patrol/rescue and relief missions. The Asgard will however carry on the *Can do* attitude.

Welcome to Adventure, to take the chance to risk it all. Winning is the only option as losing means a cold death. Live well and enjoy life as it may be short!!

USS Asgard was voted the SIMM of the year for 2013 in the Obsidian fleet

Yamato: Voz for his portrayal of Kablam and how he is developing his sub-plot. I can't ask for better character development, and I believe he is developing and well executing this subplot.
Area 51 (tie):
Tokyo: Voz for his portrayal of the Mirror Soren. Everyone likes a good villain!
Wolff: Kat (Player of Galatea Polaris) Kat is a good writer and is always sending me messages about posts she wants to do and have my approval of, even though I keep telling her she doesnt need approval to write stuff unless it's something that will blow the ship up, her character and Npc's are well thought out and her posts are well written.

Player of the Month
Task Force 23:
Valiant: Deacon Kane. He is our newest writer and has jumped into writing with both feet, doing a JP with crew members and so far has helped add to the mission's story line by suggesting background information that I hadn't considered yet.

So to whomever would be concerned the Asgard has moved from the Obsidian Fleet to the THETA fleet. Theta has agreed to welcome us in and we have accepted. We have retired the Norway class but keeping our identity as we move on with a brand new Akira class named After out norway class. We continue on as the Asgard. The voyages of the Asgard will continue to test the fates as we do battle with those who would deny freedom to the peoples of the Galaxy. We will continue to explore the unknown and expand the trek Universe in ways no one might even guess at.

It is self explanatory, so if any one is interested have a blast. This has nothing to do with the Asgard, it is a fleet event and despite the disclaimer looks like a recruitment event. It is a chance to chat with other members of the fleet.

Greetings Fellow CO's,

The USS Merlin would like to invite you to its first annual holiday celebration! In an effort to keep from looking like this is a recruitment thing I am only sending to the CO list and letting the CO's decide if they pass it on to their simmers. This celebration will include virtual food and drink, fun as well as a promotion and awards ceremony that all CO’s will be invited to participate in to award all crew who can make it from any sim!

Where: USS Merlin Discord server - https://discord.gg/HhkjfGA
Format: Live chat
Time: 03 December 2016 at 4 pm EST

I think I covered all the current Fleet time zones, if I missed yours please let me know and I’ll get you a conversion. This will exist outside of any current sim in character time so as not to interfere with any sims plots. Please note, because this is going to be all inclusive this event has a PG13 rating. Come, hang out and sim with simmers from across the Fleet :D
